Hi guys,

I think I have this guitar for about 6 years now, I bought it used at Guitar Center.
Couldn't seem to find much info. about it on the WEB.

Anyone knows anything about this one? Pood, Grid, anyone? Rolleyes

Yamaha GC-7 เป็นรุ่นหนึ่งใน Grand Concert series ซึ่งผลิตโดย Yamaha Custom Shop ครับ ไม่ใด้ผลิตปนกับ Yamaha รุ่นทั่วไปในโรงงานใหญ่

Yamaha Custom Shop เปิดโรงงานเล็กๆในปี 1966 เพื่อผลิตกีต้าร์คลาสสิคระดับ concert โดยจ้าง luthier จากเสปนมาสอน สามรุ่นแรกที่ผลิตออกมาคือ GC-5, GC-7, GC-10 ที่สเป็คเหมือนกันเป๊ะคือไม้หน้าเป็น solid ezo spruce ไม้ข้างและหลังเป็น solid brazilian rosewood เขาแยกรุ่นโดยการให้นักกีต้าร์คลาสสิคมาทดสอบเสียง ตัวไหนเสียงดีสุดก็ติดป้าย GC-10 แล้วขายแพงสุด ส่วนตัวไหนเสียงแย่สุดก็ติดป้าย GC-5 ( GC-5 ราคา 50000 yen, GC-10 ราคา 100,000 yen) สมัยนั้นนับว่าราคาแพงมากครับเพราะรุ่นดังอย่าง FG-180 ราคาแค่ 16000 yen เท่านั้น

GC-7 ยุคแรกผลิตอยู่แค่สามปีก็เลิกไปเพราะตอนนั้นช่างญี่ปุ่นเริ่มเก่งแล้วเลยแบ่งรุ่นตามเสียงอีกไม่ใด้เพราะเสียงออกมาดีทุกตัว

ตัวของพี่ napman เป็น GC-7 รุ่นสองที่ผลิตปี 1979-1986 โดย Custom Shop ครับ รุ่นนี้ลดเสป็คลงมาเป็น solid spruce top, laminated back/side. ราคาขาย 70000 yen เท่ารุ่นแรก ตัวในรูปมีลายเซ็นของ Mr. Toshio Kato ซึ่งเป็น master luthier ที่ดังที่สุดของยามาฮ่าในยุค 80's เพราะเป็นคนสร้างตัวที่ Segovia เอาไปเล่นในคอนเสริต (รุ่น GC-70) ตัวนี้น่าจะเป็นปีแรกๆที่ผลิตเพราะตอนหลังเขาจะเขียนปีที่ผลิตไว้ตรงป้ายเลย

คนส่วนใหญ่ที่มักคิดว่ายามาฮ่าสายเอ็นเป็นกีต้าร์ราคาถูก ถ้าเป็น GC series ที่ค่อนข้างหายากราคาไม่ถูกนะครับ รุ่นท้อปตอนนี้ราคา 15000 USD เชียวละ

That's not a bad suggestion, I'll comply with that, but I have to replace the strings first. The current set is very old. 5555

Or should I just play with that old set???? Smile

But as you know it'll take a while for new nylon strings to settle in. so hopefully be back with YT in a day or two OK? Wink

อยากฟังเหมือนกันครับ ที่ผมรู้เรื่องเยอะเพราะบังเอิญผมก็มี Grand Concert ที่เซ็นกำกับโดยตา Toshio Kato ตัวนึงเหมือนกันแต่เป็นปี 1985 ครับ ผมว่าคนส่วนใหญ่คงไม่รู้หรอกว่ายามาฮ่าระดับ GC เสียงดีกว่าพวก CG แค่ไหน

Hi guys,
Please ignore the "out of tune" matter. As you know it'll take a day or two of heavily playing on new nylon strings to settle in.

This one was about an hour after replaced the string set. Big Grin

Thanks for asking me to do this, I just realized that I didn't touch this guitar may be a year or so. And that was before I fooled around with YT.

I was having fun for 13.xx min., so I had to cut off the excess from 10.00 min. for YT uploading max!

This GC looks so plain Jane, nothing on Fretboard and no Fret mark and nothing to write home about its appearance!

But yeah, like Pood said, GCs sound much better than CGs (I had about 5 CGs before but they're all gone now since I got this GC.)

This one of mine also comes with Passive pickup, but I played it here through Condenser mic/Fishman SoloAmp.
