Well, Jackk,
I looked into his "Profile" and saw that he's currently having about 3,3xx,xxx total viewers for his clips and this particular one about 94,xxx viewers. So no doubt that he's "GOOD" to most ears out there!
And his set-up if you haven't yet seen it;
"Mike's setup:
Martin DC-16RGTE Aura 6-string guitar, Guild F-512 12-string guitar, into Yamaha 01x. Mike's vocal mic is a Neumann KMS105.
Jeff's setup:
Fender 5 string Jazz Bass (Mexico) into Universal Audio LA-610 Pre amp/compressor
Jeff's vocal mic is a Neumann KMS104.
The video camera is a Canon Vixia HF100 (for the more recent HD videos)."
I absolutely agree with you that he is "GOOD", but I secretly wish that he would break out of John Lennon's mold and be his own. There are so many that tried to be someone else beside themselves and at the best they will only BE the shadow or the copy of the "Originals". I still believe that " II IS ONLY YOU THAT CAN BE YOUR BEST, NOBODY ELSE CAN DO BETTER THAN YOU"
