Dating Guild Guitar Maple hollow body with f-holes, arched slab-cut maple top, arched flame maple back and sides, rounded cutaway, 3-piece 14-fret maple neck with mahogany stripes, white-bound 20-fret rosewood fretboard with pearloid block inlays, adjustable rosewood bridge, engraved harp tailpiece, twin Guild Frequency Spectrum humbucking pickups, 3-way toggle switch, 2 volume and 2 tone controls, b-w-b-w-b pickguard, beveled art deco stairstep pickguard, w-b-w-b-w double-bound body, 3-ply body binding, black peghead overlay with pearloid "Guild" logo and Chesterfield peghead inlays, Grover Rotomatic tuners, gold hardware, 16-5/8" lower bout, 24-3/4" scale length, 1-5/8" nut width, 2-1/2" body depth. Notes: Introduced in 1988, the Guild Manhattan X-170 is a thinline version of the venerable X-175 , which made its debut in 1954, a year after the firm opened its doors. With its large 17" body and contoured Venetian cutaway, the Manhattan X-170 is comparable to Gibson's slimline ES-350T, a collector's classic built between 1955 and 1963.
