Strayed animal lovers here??
Hi all,
I received this email from Thai guy in Florida. And would like to share with you here just in case anyone can make it happen;
Side note; John Vanzo** was a respectable singer/songwriter/drummer at that period, he was "Dynamics", "Kaleidoscope".....etc lead singer and few bands of his own. Very powerful voice and vast range pitch. Italian father, Thai/Chinese mother. About 5 years younger than me. He's now living in Chicago and hasn't been back to Thailand since 1993 but plans to be back this October.
Pi Nap, I can't write to you in Thai either. I can't spell anymore,……….Yeah, John (Vanzo)** is really an exceptional guy, he contributes so much to the Thai music society, then and even now. I'm amazed at all the stories he told me. I told him that he should seriously write a book. It will be very interesting to read. And It'll help the next generation to grow from there.
One point that I have been thinking, Since I joined this fb. thing. I get to meet my old big brothers. They are doing well with their music career and I'm glad that the get to do what they love the most...Playing music all their lives...
Many, as you know are quite famous and well known in Thailand. Many of them , including you are still abroad.
But that doesn't change the fact that you guys have reached the age that you are able and capable to give back to the society.
I say this because 2 years ago it was my first time going back to Thailand. After some 30 yrs or so. I freaked out with all the changes.. The good and the bad.
One noticeable point is the garbage on the streets.
The over crowded population flushing in BKK.
>. And the... Suffering stray dogs and cats. It seem to be everywhere. At any street corners, sure enough.. there will be a poor, sick 'n starving animals... I looked in their eyes... Pi Nap...In their eyes, I feel the sadness and the loneliness, despairs, lost hope.. and in need of love.
Some are so eager to come to greet me.. Just to be petted.. some may have been abused so severely that are so afraid to come any closer. My heart is broken. This is only a short version of the dogs and cats in Thailand. Not getting into the beggars and the street musicians just yet.
My point is.
You, Brothers are the iconic figures of our Thai music society. It is the fact.
At this age..
Your generation have the connections, talent and money.
>> The thought of having all of you joining together just one day of each year to give a charity outdoors concert at some park.
>> Just to raise the money to help out the needy animals.
>> Is that impossible?
It will be for a good cause, fun and a chance for everyone to get to meet each other.
I only speaking about this . It's only hope that you can be kind to seriously think about it . And may be you can relate this urgent issue to other musician friends of yours.. Including Master John himself. He will be a great driving force to organize the project.
Pi Nap. Musicians as you and my other big brothers.
You guys set a good examples to my generations then, I still believe that you guys still have the fire and the ability to do much more now.
The dogs and stray pets is just the immediate issue. An education on fixing them so they won't have so many litters and such can be taught along the way.
But the budget for saving those sick and starving animals also needed.
>> Trying to raise the money by asking everyone to chip in a few bucks.. it'll be tough to get a dime.. you know it well too...
But..I am sure you'd agree..
>> To raise the beaucoup money, the easiest way is to get help from the super stars.
>> Music!!! Concerts ..
One great band can draw a huge crowd.. and imagine.. many many great bands getting together for the good cause... Ahaha! It will draw a huge huge crowd like mad Woodstock.
I am sure that all the media and the people will give much attention to the project. Definitely!
Pi Nap.
>> One concert that you and your friends can contribute to the society.
>> It will raise enough money to help out the suffering animals in our homeland for the whole year.
Of course, you guys have to fork out some cash to get the shit going. But hey, you guys a so blessed and so well off now.. Hhaha. You can give out a few K. to do this. And It will be your legacy and a good lifetime memories for you and your family too.
You guys has been the forefront and the pioneers of the music world to us. Both setting the high musical standard, The attitude and the way of living.
It is the right thing to do for the cause. It is only up to you to continue setting a good standard and the good moral to the people. Actually , it is your duty as a public figures.
And with the fb. connection, things can grow to be a world wide project. Ahaha! Who know..
It only takes a few phone calls to your good friends to agree and give just a day of their time to show up on the stage. It only takes your convincing to get them to agree.
Besides.. It will be so much fun for everyone. And It Will set a good example to the next generations of the Thai musicians. Please talk to Jon about this.
I must go out for now. Will be home in the evening.
Much respect to you,
Dhan
[A friendship needs a little mulch of contacts every so often-just to save it from drying out completely.
I always have great pleasure being alone by myself to play, If you're playing for any other reason, it won't last.
