BODY: Top, back, and sides all maple. Archtop with F holes. Internal maple soundpost under the bridge.
BOUND: Top and back edge with black-striped white ivonoid.

NECK: 3-piece maple.
FINGERBOARD: Edge bound rosewood with block inlays, 20 frets.
SCALE: 24 1/4 inches.
HEADSTOCK: Domed style with Guild and Chesterfield emblem inlays.
PICKUPS: Two second-style Guild humbuckers.
NUT: 1 10/16 inches.
CONTROLS: Two volume, two tone, and a selector switch mounted on the bass bout.
BRIDGE: Rosewood with a compensated saddle.
TAILPIECE: Lyre style with engraved pattern.

A scarce Amber color, the X-170 was discontinued in1991. .This guitar was made in the Westerly, Rhode Island factory, where Guild enjoyed its greatest years from 1966 until its closing in 2001. The guitar is in 100% original mint condition, with all original hardware, warmly ambered original finish, and original hardshell case. Manhattan X-170 offers comfort, tone and a slim comfy neck. This instrument has medium gauge nickel strings (.012-.054). The guitar will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. Original Guild black plush hardshell case.
