I've been friendly asked for my opinion to comment about this song's arranging!
Here's my overture "He who knows not and knows not he knows not: he is a fool - shun him.
He who knows not and knows he knows not: he is simple - teach him"
First off I'm nowhere near some of my peers Pro Music Producers, Arrangers but since that request was so sincere; I'll risk my rep. for better or worst here
In my opinion (strictly my opinion, allow me to stress it right here again!) from my untrained ears and especially for pop song arranging.
I'd have lower the piano volume a little bit especially when the vocal is on so these 2 will not compete and blur each other. In musical term it's called "Dynamic"
The string section (Keyboard?) sounded about right but I would have it played more bars than what you have in here.
I'd have stressed the clarity of the vocal because I believe it's the backbone of this song in particular. Everything else should pale when compare with the main vocal.
Other than that I think everything fell into its place nicely,
but then again it's just my opinion due to my "Head over heel" with classical music in the past. So please take my comment as a grain of salt if you may.
And feel so honored for being asked.
Sukanya & Den, please allow me to put a clip from two of my respected musicians for you two here, I'm sure we all can learn something from them; I always love YYM's cello playing, absolutely out of this world,
[A friendship needs a little mulch of contacts every so often-just to save it from drying out completely.
I always have great pleasure being alone by myself to play, If you're playing for any other reason, it won't last. http://youtu.be/_tkGVGOKQ8c
