I have to disagree with you, I don't think the older we get the more lonely we will be, just quite contrary to what you think. I think we all are the only best friend we ever had.
And we don't really have to struggle to live if we only live as peaceful with our family just like you said.
I absolutely agree with you that the best way in life is "No more of those none-essential material stuffs". If you can do without them then your family life will be so peaceful and calm just like I'm having it right now

I'm old enough to say that I've been there and done that and I'm one of those lucky and happy old men
