Let me share my old ancient story here too; When I was a student at TU (Thammasat) I had a friend of the same faculty (Accounting) that is Islamic and co-incidentally that guy (Somchai Sarowaat) shared the same birthday with me.

One late afternoon after the good students went home, the "not so good students" still hung around playing soccers, chatting etc... and then I realized that it was my birthday and Somchai was also hang around with us at the faculty building. So I asked him if he wanted to share the expense of buying some food and celebrate our birthdays with our friends (about 10 of us) who were still around with us. He agreed.
So I took his money and mine and went off to Ta Pra Jan and got some fried noodles and stuffs but completely forget that he's an Islamic!
I recalled I got some fried pork noodles tooBig Grin with other kind of food. He didn't say a word and if I remember correctly he did eat some of those too without complainingTongue

Now back to present; I have some new idea about the songs that we choose to put them here. When I do my gigs and whenever the opportunity arises I will inject some comments about the songs that I was about to play. So I'll do that here from now on because I believe that each of us more or less has a reasons or two of why we choose to practice, practice and practice to play that particular song and upload it to YT before put it here. We may know that song's history inside out but our friends here may not have any idea about that song. And I think it is much better to know than not knowing.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, here's for this song that I ATTEMPTED to play.
First off, this is the song that I heard when I came to Thailand last year from Nantida and I was very impressed with the lyric. It's so beautiful and simple expression of feeling into words.
I've found the words at YT and wrote it down and played it without knowing any original correct chord constrctions, I just used my ears and tried to interpret and built up the chord progressions by myself. So I'm sure it's totally different from the original. I hope nobody minds and understands that I'm not trying to butcher this beautiful song to death!

By saying that I'd love to ask for help here; if anybody kinds enough to write "Thai lyric" of this song and put it here so I can copy/paste and keep it for my own and will do another rendition of this song again in the futureShy And thanks in advance Wink
Also, when I was in BKK last year, I asked Dej (Povation's wife) to sing this song LIVE for me and she did it for me so beautifully. I still wish she can put her version here for usSad
Here you go; my crude and raw "Wi Marn Din" and first time ever in my life for any Thai song;

My English interpretation of this song;
Wi Marn Din?s interpretation

I left my love with the starlight
That are glittering in the sky

Let the lights be my eyes
That watch over you with all my adorable

I weaved the sky with my tender love
That covers you and keeps you warm before you go to bed tonight

Let the leaves make musical melody
To lullaby you to your sweet dream before your slumber

It?s heaven on Earth that you can stay and rest
I?ll pick stars, moons and weave them into necklaces
I?ll pick the dew in the forest to chain our hearts together

Before the dawn, before the moon parted
I?m still here with you, in our dream
I left my whispers along with the blowing winds
Across the long endless night for you to have sweet dream

To keep you warm, and give you sweet dream
To keep you warm right at this HEAVEN on Earth.

Castles in the air เพลงโฟล์คยุค 70 กว่าๆของ Don McLean
สำหรับทุกท่านที่หลงใหลดื่มด่ำบรรยากาศของชนบทครับ
Enjoy

Allow me to put the lyric here, so you can see how beautiful this song has been written;

And if she asks you why, you can tell her that I told you
That I?m tired of castles in the air.
I?ve got a dream I want the world to share
And castle walls just lead me to despair.

Hills of forest green where the mountains touch the sky,
A dream come true, I?ll live there till I die.
I?m asking you to say my last goodbye.
The love we knew ain?t worth another try.

Save me from all the trouble and the pain.
I know I?m weak, but I can?t face that girl again.
Tell her the reasons why I can?t remain,
Perhaps she?ll understand if you tell it to her plain.

But how can words express the feel of sunlight in the morning,
In the hills, away from city strife.
I need a country woman for my wife;
I?m city born, but I love the country life.

For I cannot be part of the cocktail generation:
Partners waltz, devoid of all romance.
The music plays and everyone must dance.
I?m bowing out. I need a second chance.

Smile

[A friendship needs a little mulch of contacts every so often-just to save it from drying out completely.

I always have great pleasure being alone by myself to play, If you're playing for any other reason, it won't last.
