From Wikipedia "Fort Bragg is a city located in coastal Mendocino County, California along State Route 1, the major north-south highway along the Pacific Coast. Fort Bragg is located 24 miles (39 km) west of Willits,[2] at an elevation of 85 feet (26 m).[1] Founded as a military fort prior to the American Civil War, Fort Bragg is now a popular tourist destination due to its picturesque views of the Pacific Ocean and rugged Northern California coastline. The population was 7,026 at the 2000 census"
I had a chance ot go to Fort Bragg (3 hours drive north of San Francisco) with my wife and her nursing classmates to visit their Mentor Doctor( Doctor Jennings) and his wife. They were teaching at Missionary nursing school in Bangkok in late 60s and they taught there for 6 years before left for their home at USA. My wife and her classmates were the gratduates of 1971 class.
We (seven of us, 5 ladies plus me and a young man who is godson of one of us) rented a van and drove up there about 10 hours/600 miles one way. I was the main driver and my wife was the second one. It was my visit there but some of them have already been there few times.
It was quite a nice drive but the last 150 miles was a kind of "Long and winding road" but picturesque though. We passed some of Wine making cities with lots of Winery Orchard and Grapevine but we didn't stop to taste those Wine at all.
I of course not at all a photographer of any level (at the best just another "Point & Shooter"). But I just want to share my enjoyment of travelling with whoever curiouses enough to see.
Doctor Jenning's home is right by the ocean (Pacific). I pitched my tent in his backyard look out at the beach for those 2 nights while we were there. Very peaceful and calm and so fresh weather. The temperature was about 45F at night and 70 at day but very foggy we couldn't see the full moon at all.
Here are the pictures that I'd like to shrare;
My home away from home between flowers and Pacific ocean.
A bit wooden fish stands guard at night and keeps an eye for me.
Gateway to the ocean.
Worm rock?
Lonesome beach.
Two strangers on the shore.
Pacific ocean sentinels.
Lonely bird.
Moby Dick.
Isn't she lovely?
Petrified rock.
Stone gate to heaven (or hell?)
Beauty is all around us, if we only stop and take time for it.
And those are all of the pictures that I'd like to share with you guys, just pretend that you're walking along with me at that beach and just simply enjoy the natural scenery!
And now I'll upload some motion picture clips here;
Here are two bonus clips just for fun;
Children's play at the tip of the ocean.
I personally like dogs, so here's one of them.
[A friendship needs a little mulch of contacts every so often-just to save it from drying out completely.
I always have great pleasure being alone by myself to play, If you're playing for any other reason, it won't last. http://youtu.be/_tkGVGOKQ8c
