Well, I've been holding on to just read this thread and tried not to get involve until now! I think this Run's post is the "Straw that breaks the camel's back"
I considered myself very very lucky that I have married to a wonderful lady in so many ways. But let me just talk about this GUITAR matter.
First off, my wife always makes more money from her line of work than me since the day we got married even if I've made some decent income from my line of work before I took my early retired at 62, and I'm always have a sense of money management (frugality) in my concious (we stopped having credit card almost 20 years ago, now we're using only debit cards to purchase stuff. In other words if we don't have enough cash to buy anything outright we just don't buy it). So we don't really have no serious financial problem that often in our lives together. I can freely and openly buy anything that I want without her objection and I never oppose to her buying neither. She even gave up her closet in our bedroom by moved out her clothes to the smaller closet and asked me to use the bigger closet for my top ten guitars and other musical stuffs that I still have that overflown from the under-the-stair closet downstair!
So I don't have any guilt to bring in my new guitar at any time that I want. But for the time being I still have more guitars than I really need to have so now it's much harder for me to get the guitars (permanent) out than to bring the new ones in for sure
I don't mean to HACK this thread, just chimed in my story, that's all
