The answer is YES, and I can tell you more about it!!

My dad's home was at Nokorn Sri Thammarat, he's born there, so as my grandfather and grandmother. My mom's home was at Chumporn, she's born there. Her dad was a Chinese from mainland came to Thailand by boat, married my Thai grandmother.

I don't think we ever lived at Sonkla. I was born in Bangkok but my big sister was born at Nakorn Sri Thammarat. None of my sisters and me ever learn how to correctly speak "Southern Dialect". When I was at Thammasat I had few Southern friends and I (tried to) spoke with them in Southern Dialect!!
