Flight

Serial Number # 15040

Man this guitar kills and I seldom say that. I've been playing Lowdens exclusively on steel since 1996, sixteen years, 250+ guitars, and it takes me 15 to 20 guitars to get one this good. I'm not gonna even state the typical buzz words to describe the tone because the guitar has everything, period! Again, the guitar lacks nothing and *dang* it has a wide open sound and plays fast and loose. And not even broken-in. Imagine then? Pear wood back & sides with Sitka top (which you might as well equate to the best rosewood/spruce possible because this baby has all those tones). The guitar is virtually new and has been under wraps since its creation late 2004. Unbelievable. It has never been owned, I was still a Lowden dealer when I got it, whoever buys it can be the first owner and send in the warranty if he/she wants to! I am the hugest of Lowden fans and also the harshest of critics and I'm saying this guitar will get rave reviews from all players no matter what their style or taste. It edges out my two best Lowden F's and they are cherry-picked via 30 or so new-shop F's. Hello! An amazing opportunity on a rare model, only 30 made for the 30 year anniversary and this one is a smoker and gorgeous to boot (and check out the cool abalone inlaid label). Specs are: Fingerstyle neck low profile 45mm/60mm, upper bout 11 1/4, lower bout 15 7/8, depth @heel 4", depth @tail 4 3/4, scale 25.5, tuners are Gotoh 510 with ebony knobs. Original Hiscox case also like new perfect. Again to be clear, the guitar is as-new, no dings, no scratches, no fret-wear, not even a fingerprint!! USA buyer may pay via PayPal but only with a confirmed verified account. Buyer pays insured shipping. The stated $125 is for Express Mail within the USA because with the summer heat so extreme I will not allow transit time to be more than 1 or 2 days. Obviously if you are 2 days or less ground shipping from me then ground shipping would be fine and more like $60 to $80 insured. International buyers welcome and FYI, I have shipped many guitars overseas over the years, never any problems and am well versed in commercial invoices, customs, etc. International buyer pays by bank wire transfer only. Again and to be clear, absolutely no PayPal from buyer outside the USA. International buyers please contact in advance for shipping quote. Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me and if you are in the USA and would like to speak with me feel free to call me on my cell 772 341-6570, I love to talk guitars, especially Lowdens and I can talk up a storm on this guitar. I'm a good listener too Smile

Q: Hi, I saw this special beauty pop-up and am jumping out of my skin for it. I have to work on my partner for a go-ahead. I am curious though, if you don't mind, you're saying the guitar bests your 2 fav F's, why not keep it and sell one of those? Jul-19-12
A: Hi, thanks for your interest and kind comments about the guitar. No, I don't mind at all, I could understand that inquiry. I love this guitar and its killing me to sell it. The long and short of it, I developed hand and finger problems about eight years ago...joint, trigger, arthritis...and thru trial and error, at this point, I can only play guitar necks that are 1.75 across the nut. The left thumb joint was my very first problem (which I've held at bay) and I can't risk playing guitar necks that are any wider whatsoever. The trigger releases are tolerable (I've had four) but a joint replacement is the last thing I want. This neck is low profile, but the issue is the width across, its 45mm which is 1.77 and then it complicates further by going wider than the standard 56mm/57mm ending at 60mm. Really, for fingerstyle it is fantastic to have the wider string spacing for the right hand and anybody without hand issues will love this neck. Believe me, I had it to my guitar tech and briefly spoke about reworking the neck, because I've been searching for a new-shop F spruce to sound this good, but I couldn't bring myself to modify an anniversary guitar. So, with my hand problems not improving, they're going the other direction, its time to bring this guitar out from under the bed and get it into some hands that will play and make some beautiful music with it. That said, call me crazy but I think the guitar has actually gotten even better just resting in its case for the past 8 years!
