This guitar gorgeously combines a Sitka Spruce top with Flamed Maple back and sides. Sitka has a lower stiffness-to-weight ratio than Adirondack Red Spruce. A positive side-effect of this more flexible soundboard is that it doesn't require as much strength (or string attack) to produce it's signature balanced sonic tone. A player with a lighter attack or even fingerstyle players will find Sitka Spruce much more suited to their playing style. Sitka accentuates the warm round aspects of the guitar’s tone. It is the most frequent choice in acoustic steel string guitars, and for good reason! It repsonds to bare fingers, as well as a pick attack, and handles both with aplomb. The brightness and tone of the flamed Maple top makes it a favorite and common choice for archtop and jazz guitars, however when used in acoustic guitars, adds a lively, quick note response. Hard Maple is an excellent component for those who want a very distinct presence and definition between individual notes. The combination of Sitka Spruce and Flamed Maple ensures a superior guitar sound and harmony at all levels of play.
