วิธีเลือกซื้อกีตาร์ Lowden ให้ได้เสียงที่ถูกใจ
Woods & Tonal Characteristics
Sound is subjective and different makers can achieve remarkably different results with similar woods. These statements are at best comparative and are offered only as a guide to help you decide which guitar is best for you.

Cedar
An even, close-grained darker colored wood. It has a warm and sensitive mature sound right from the start and will maintain a quality sound for many years.

Sitka Spruce
The traditional wood for steel strung guitar tops gives a bright sound and good projection. When accurately quarter-sawn, it may exhibit long medullary rays and bearclaw figure. Spruce tops will mature over time tending to become fuller and less harsh.

Mahogany
A relatively light but strong wood which is acoustically bright and clear. The color may vary a little but always has a distinctive warm appearance.

Walnut
Richer in appearance than mahogany, its greyish brown color is often enhanced by pink and dark brown highlights and may sometimes exhibit a flamed lustre. Tonally, it combines the brightness of mahogany and some of the warmth of rosewood.

Indian Rosewood
Rosewood has traditionally been favored in guitar construction because of its rich brown reddish color and strong regular grain pattern. It has a balanced sound with rich bass tone and clear trebles.

Premier Range Woods
The woods we have chosen for the Premier Range are highest grade tone woods of proven suitability for use in instruments of this class. Some woods have been selected for the exciting quilting and flame figures which they exhibit. Other species have been chosen for their extremely varied hue and colors. Furthur contrasts and blends are added by the inlays, resulting in an overall magnificent portrait of often hidden or scarely seen masterpieces in wood that surround us in the creation.

Indian Rosewood
Rich reds and powdery purples combined with the marked regular grain figure of the most highly selected Indian Rosewood have for many years been the most popular wood for backs and sides on expensive acoustics. The beautiful rich basses and clear treble response of this wood when matched with the delicate inlays of the 35 Style will make this wood choice even more sought after.

Quilted Maple
Maple produces a clear strong sound which has full midranges and bright strong trebles. The beautiful quilting figures in the wood combined with the clean elegant 35 Style inlays produce a stunning guitar.

Koa
Koa was introduced to the Lowden family only a few years ago and all of the instruments made have been enthusiastically received by players around the world. There is much variety in the selections available but we will always strive to offer the most highly figured samples of this popular but now scarce wood from Hawaii. Koa exhibits a sensitivity more normally associated with mahogany but also has some of the richer tone which is more fully developed in a rosewood instrument.

Brazilian Rosewood
For many years we have used Brazilian Rosewood (know as Rio), and now only a little properly certified material remains of this exciting timber. We can think of no better use for the remaining stocks of this wood than a magnificent Premier Range instrument. Giving the richest sound of any wood, Rio produces full deep basses and midrange with a good balance of trebles.

Flamed Maple
Maple produces a clear strong sound which has full midranges and bright strong trebles. The beautiful flame figures in the wood combined with the clean elegant 35 Style inlays produce a stunning guitar.

Claro Walnut
The greatest variation of colors, hues and figures are displayed in the Oregon walnuts. For years Lowden have used walnut from Europe to make one of the most responsive and beautifully balanced sounding guitars ever made. Now with the marble patterns, curl and flame figures of the Oregon Walnuts and beautiful inlays of the 35 Style, this is an overall high scoring guitar in every aspect. Aesthetic and tonal considerations as well as those more closely the concern of the player are masterfully catered for in this instrument.
