RE: มุมหนึ่ง..ในลอสแองเจลลิส
Hi Maew,
So glad that you brought this matter up.
Just like we all know, there are 2 sides of everything. To me there's no one to blame or point finger at about this growing crisis in USA, and in most cases when you point your index finger to someone else do you notice where are your middle, ring, and pinky pointing to?
People have gone from "well to do" to "homeless" in a matter of days.
Quite a lot of Americans fell prey to the power of "Advertising" and "Keep up with the Jones", they acquired their "wanted" materials (new flashy cars, boats, furnitures...etc) to compensate their soul deprivations by using their easy to get plastic money (Credit cards) while mortgaging their homes for their families and living from paychecks to paychecks on their insecure jobs. They don't have any saving in the banks left alone cash for any emergency for their families while living a high life to impress people, in other words they used the money that they don't really have just to impress people that they don't even know!
When they fell on their hard times (lost job, divorce, etc...), their income suddenly dried up and couldn't afford to pay mortgage for their homes and eventually lost them. That forced them to live their lives in their motorhomes, trucks, cars, parks, you name it.
Especially at today's time, we all susceptible got hit more or less from this global economic crisis. The number of homeless people ballooned up significantly at scarely rate! It's so helpless situation that nobody has a true solution to solve it, but this homelessness situation becomes pale compares to what Americans are dealing with right now. And again this matter was put at the back burner like it always was.
Speaking of this, brought me to Mr.Narthaniel Ayers life story. He's in short, just another nameless, faceless, homeless man who resided in Los Angeles downtown area for homeless people until he was re-discovered by Los Angeles Times' columnist Steve Lopez few years back.
I've read Lopez's columns about this homeless man from the beginning partially because Mr. Ayers once was an enthusiastic young man attending a prestige music school "Juilliard" in New York along with reknown YO YO MA!
After a while there, Mr. Ayers succumbed to his medical condition (Schizophrenia) and dropped out off Juilliard and got lost in the crowd.
To make long story short, to my surprise, a month ago after a half year of delaying there was a movie came out by the title of "The Soloist" and it was Mr. Ayers story!!
I don't know if that movie is showing at BKK theater or not?, I plan to see this movie but don't know when yet (I stop going to see ANY movie at theaters many years ago), I bought a book by the same name (The Solist) and of course authored by Steve Lopez. I will bring this book along with me to BKK in November and intend to give it to Maew just to show my appreciation for what he did for me at this "Nimit's"
And then life goes on for the ones who still struggle to have it all with roof over their heads or simply the sky above and nothing else even a friend to talk to or where to find their next meals!
Peace and Love to all.
[A friendship needs a little mulch of contacts every so often-just to save it from drying out completely.
I always have great pleasure being alone by myself to play, If you're playing for any other reason, it won't last.
