Yes, Pood your are right.

Judy C recorded it almost right after Joni wrote it in late 60s (as I recalled) and that in turn exulted Joni up to Stratosphere.

So what our generations mostly listened to was JC's version.

But after all being said and done, the simple lyric of this song said to itself how great she was when she was that young and penned this great song besides her "Circle game", "A case of you", "Big yellow taxi" and so many more..

To my humble opinion, she's one of the greatest singer/songwriter of our generation. Cool
