I certainly didn't know how his last one went, but I can speculate in so many ways.

There are so many causes that can lead any artist to give a mediocre performance and it's especially true if those artists perform in very different part and so much different atmosphere from what they are familiar to.

It could be the weather, could be his mood, could be jet-lag, could be the co-ordinations of the artists and their band-mates, sound setting, or directly with the sponsors....etc.

So many things can go wrong in different places and different times, so sometimes it's just "Let's get over with it and get the hell out of here!" attitude after being bombarded with those unpleasant/unexpected receptions or whatever!!
